Chairman of the Niger Tornadoes FC Management Committee, appointed 27 June 2026.

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago appointed Dr Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso — the Dan Wadatan Nupe — as Chairman of the Management Committee of Niger Tornadoes FC, with immediate effect from 27 June 2026. Kuso succeeds Engr Ibrahim Dada, who stepped down to contest the Bosso/Paikoro Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Announcing the appointment, Governor Bago said he was confident Kuso could "reposition the Minna-based club through competent and proactive leadership" and was optimistic he would help return the club to its "glory days."
Kuso serves as Executive Director of Planning and Design at the Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority.
At the new Management Committee's inauguration, the Niger State Ministry of Sports Development set the target of a top-three NPFL finish for the 2026/27 season, alongside confirming the state government's continued financial backing of the club — a sharp step up from the 14th-place finish of 2025/26.
The committee's first major decision was the appointment of Kabiru Suleiman Dogo as head coach on a three-year deal. Kuso has also confirmed that renovation work at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna is on track to be completed before the new NPFL season kicks off in August 2026, ending a period in which the Ikon Allah Boys have had to host matches away from Minna, including a run of fixtures at Lafia City Stadium.
